Saturated Oils for Cooking

Try to Avoid cooking with unsaturated fats like olive, canola and grapeseed oil

You’ve probably heard that you should fry with grapeseed oil and sauté with olive oil because they have the highest smoke points, right? Well although those smoke points are correct, this has nothing to do with the actual safety of cooking with these oils. You see, heating unsaturated fats like olive, canola and grapeseed damages their omega fatty acids by changing their molecular structure to a point where they become bad for our health.

Smoke point of various oils:

  • Ghee, 485F
  • Canola, 425F
  • Grapeseed, 425F
  • Coconut, 350F
  • Butter, 350F
  • Olive, 325F
  • Flax, 225F
Choose coconut oil and butter for cooking

Saturated fats like coconut oil and butter are best for cooking

For those who have been following my story, I have gone back to school to study holistic nutrition at the Institute for Holistic Nutrition. After finishing my biochemistry final yesterday, our biochem professor gave us a lecture on cooking oils. Here is what we learned.

Choose saturated fats for cooking, not unsaturated:

In order to understand which fats or oils to cook with, you need to look at their molecular structure and whether or not they contain double bonds. I will spare you from this biochemistry and give you the answer.

Saturated fats contain no double bonds so are not sensitive to heat, light or oxygen and are less likely to create free radicals when heated. Thus, coconut oil and butter are the best fats to cook with. This said, you should still not be frying with them because that is just wrong from a health perspective. I’m saying that they are the most resistant to the heat needed to cook food. Fried food is not food, period!

Unsaturated fats (vegetable oils) are very sensitive to heat, light and oxygen so heating them up will change their molecular structure and thus turn them into free radicals which damage our cells. Monounsaturated fats like olive oil only contain one double bond so are a little more resistant to heat than polyunsaturated fats like canola, grapeseed and sesame, but they should still be avoided for cooking. They should only be used to top a dish afterwards or create a vinaigrette.

What about social situations?

Does this mean you will die if you eat a meal cooked with olive oil at your friend’s house or a restaurant? No. But I am saying that you want to limit free radical damage to your body which leads to degenerative disease and cancer over time, so lessening your exposure to them is a good idea.

Coconut oil is solid at room temperature

Coconut oil is sold at room temperature and great for cooking

What if I’m lactose intolerant or vegan?

You can also cook with ghee which is clarified butter and has had all the milk products removed. I believe this is ok for lactose intolerant people. As for vegans or strict vegetarians, it looks like coconut oil is the only option. I’ve heard it’s great for Asian dishes but you can still use it for Mediterranean type dishes with onions and garlic.

But isn’t butter bad for you and what if I have high cholesterol?

Cooking with an oil that is not meant to be heated is worse and potentially carcinogenic (causes cancer) because of the free radical damage it will do to your body. You need a fat that can withstand heat and not change chemically when it is heated.

As for cholesterol, contrary to popular belief, there is no evidence that high cholesterol is caused by diet, it is caused by free radical damage to the cells in the body so cooking with butter will not raise it. That said, you should still not be eating foods like red meat and pork, but not because of the cholesterol they contain, because they are hard on the body and generally contain a lot of toxins and preservatives.

If you want to reduce free radical damage in your body, limit your exposure to them and eat more unprocessed, organic fruits and vegetables, which are high in antioxidants and attack free radicals.

3 coming trends

Begin with China. That huge country has now launched a US$400 billion program to fund its shaky municipal governments. Barnes is bemused by the lack of reporting. "Almost no one seems to have noticed or commented on the size of their own internal TARP program," he writes. "The fact that China is bailing out their city governments, should be indication of what is happening below the news fold, as it were. The reality is that even China is feeling the global slowdown pain."

Barnes is somewhat admiring of the actions the actions the Chinese have taken. He suggests that unlike Western governments, "they don't spend a lot of time in public wringing their hands. They knew they had an issue and took action." It is in fact a huge bailout when one considers that the Chinese economy is only about one third the size of America's. This means relatively speaking that the money amounts to US$1.2 trillion, almost double the size of the US TARP.

Barnes concludes that Chinese municipalities (where most of the bailout funds are directed) are now in a better position to weather the "coming storm." We're not so sure about this. Municipal indebtedness is related to another under-reported phenomenon in China, which is a real estate crash.

Of course, we began to write about Chinese inflation about two years ago, and at the time we figured the Chinese would raise interest rates significantly. Guess what – they have. And what's the result? Well, just like in the US a while back, higher rates have popped the real-estate bubble and caused Chinese municipalities to crash as well. What's next on the agenda? A "landing" of some sort. Wanna bet it will be a soft one? We'll take offers. We're wagering on the hard kind.

Trend two according to Barnes is an upcoming war with Iran in the Middle East. We've actually been writing about this quite a bit (see other Staff Report today). Barnes has a twist, though, and it's an interesting one. "You only have to look at the latest OPEC meeting to see between the lines," he writes. "Iran and Saudi Arabia have drawn lines in the sand, and sides are being taken."

This is a novel interpretation of what's going on. Barnes has the idea that Saudi Arabia may act as a military proxy for Israel and the US. Interesting. He thinks the war has already begun from a military standpoint. Here's how he puts it: "It is my expectation that Saudi will now try to flood the world with oil, to drive down the Iranian revenue available to fight a war with Saudi Arabia. This will be a rerun of the end of the Soviet Union, when Saudi Arabia helped to drive prices of oil down to $10 per barrel."

Barnes sees a tremendous level of animosity between Israel and Iran, but he would add in Saudi Arabia as well. "[The lack of agreement] makes me wonder if a joint Israel/Saudi war on Iran isn't in the making." That's not a scenario we ever envisioned, but it is perfectly possible that the Saudis would end up on the side of Israel in a large Middle Eastern conflict (even in an unstated way). The Saudi Sunnis and Iranian Shias have no great love for one another and Saudi Arabia could not exist as the theocratic dictatorship that it is without Western support.

What's his third big trend? The EU of course and sovereign risk. Here again, he takes an interesting angle, pointing out that the IMF has gone on record with the statement "that it does not plan on releasing new funds until there is a major change in the Greece asset to capital loan mix." The next tranche is due in July, and Barnes points out that Greece's government will again be all but bankrupt by then – "without working capital" is how he puts it.

What are the ramifications? "A hard and fast deadline for reality to break out." Greek officials were supposed to raise some funds on their own in addition to the IMF tranches. But because the markets have generally shunned Greece, the gap between what the IMF has provided and what Greece needs has continued to grow. Either additional capital is made available or Greece goes broke, and sooner rather than later.

It gets still worse. The European Central Bank itself is the lender of last resort, but there is no way the ECB can handle a Greek default because it will inevitably entangle the rest of the PIGS. Now who or what does the ECB call on when it needs cash? Why the entirety of its national membership!

Here's our question (and Barnes'): When the ECB goes cap-in-hand to Germany (and Chancellor Angela Merkel) for a large capital infusion, what will the answer be? The Germans are very obviously unhappy now; we cannot envision the grief (and rage) if the Germans are asked to refinance the entire Union. Barnes puts it this way: "The ECB is in a game of blind man's bluff, with no exit strategy and a ticking clock."We like this article! It touches on three great dominant social themes that we've covered in the past. (China as the navel of the world; Middle East as flashpoint of World War III; and the EU as the second-and-necessary-coming of the Holy Roman Empire.) Barnes updates them with what we would term "insightful brevity."

Let's summarize. China is the engine of the world, but we've long predicted that inflation would be that economy's undoing. If China is beginning its long (or short) collapse into a hard-landing, what does that mean for the rest of the world? We've also begun tracking the Middle East far more closely because of these phony (Western influenced)color revolutions. We think the Western elites have hit a wall insofar as their efforts to create near-term global governance. With the world spinning out of their control, the answer may be a larger war. The Middle East is a good place to start it.

Finally, there is the issue of the European Union. The Anglosphere elites are fighting desperately to save the euro and the EU in our opinion. We do believe the power elite has wanted to create a financial crisis not only in the West but around the world. They DO want chaos – but they also don't want their regional fiefdoms to fall apart. These are the stepping stones to a One World Order after all.

The world economy is bad enough, and a China crash will make it worse. We don't think Western elites are in favor of a crash at this point in time, given the breadth and depth of the current "recession" (which is actually a depression). As we've pointed out in today's other article, a war may be the only way to distract restive Western citizens from what's already taken place. The question becomes how to start one and who's going to be involved. The elites continue trying to bail out the leaky EU boat, but we're not sure that's going to be effective.

Taken together, a China crash, a regional war (perhaps nuclear) and the imminent, potential breakup of the EU presage what the Chinese like to call "interesting times." Are we imagining any of this? The near-term deadline appears to be the EU. But a EU collapse could place further pressure on the Chinese economy, leading to a "landing" of some sort sooner rather than later. And as further financial chaos sweeps the globe, Western elites might well turn to the tried and true tool of military engagement to keep control of the internationalist institutions they've already built.

This is a variant of the scenario that we think took place during and after the Great Depression. The difference is that people are much more informed now due to the Internet. We've been banging this drum for years, but we don't see any need to stop now. There is plenty going on – much more than Barnes mentions – and a good deal of it bodes ill for elite control.

Conclusion: The 20th century was a kind of Dark Age so far as we are concerned, when the elites were pretty much in charge of the levers of control. The 21st century, despite these three grim trends, portends, perhaps, a potential Renaissance and Internet Reformation. This is a "current" too.

10 Signs That Wall Street Is About To Go Into Panic Mode

Can you smell the fear? Right now world financial markets are visibly nervous and many are worried that Wall Street is about to go into panic mode. It really is eerie how 2011 is shaping up to be so similar to 2008. Major Wall Street banks are laying off workers in droves, oil prices are at very high levels, pessimism is permeating the financial markets, debt ratings are being downgraded all over the place and consumer confidence is stunningly low. Sadly, none of the fundamental things that were wrong with the financial markets back in 2008 have been fixed. In fact, many believe that Wall Street is even more vulnerable now. A ton of bad economic numbers have come pouring in lately and that has put investors in a really sour mood. All it would probably take is for one really significant "trigger event" to take place for Wall Street to go into full-fledged panic mode.

Let us hope and pray that we do not see another Wall Street disaster this year. But right now things do not look promising. Japan has been absolutely devastated, Europe is struggling with the Greek debt crisis and the U.S. economy resembles a dead horse at this point. Meanwhile, world financial markets are getting more bad news on an almost daily basis. Many investors are holding their breath and hoping that a worst case scenario does not play out.

The following are 10 signs that Wall Street is about to go into panic mode....

#1 According to The New York Post, nearly all of the major Wall Street banks are planning huge layoffs....

"Barclays Capital, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Morgan Stanley currently are among those financial institutions either weighing staff cuts or actually paring payroll"

#2 A new CNBC article claims that a "negative feedback loop" has "taken control" on Wall Street. Essentially what is happening is that bad economic news is creating an "environment of pessimism" which creates even more bad economic news, etc. etc.

#3 OPEC has announced that oil production levels will not be raised. This is likely to spook the financial markets and cause the price of oil to go up even higher in the coming weeks. The last time U.S. energy expenditures were over 9 percent of GDP was back in 2008 and at that point the economy rapidly plunged into a very deep recession. For the first time since 2008 we have reached the 9 percent figure again, and many on Wall Street fear that this could lead to bad things.

#4 QE2 will be wrapping up at the end of June, and many on Wall Street had been counting on yet another round of quantitative easing. Over the past couple of days, however, it has started to become clear that is just not going to happen - at least for now. In fact, Pimco's co-chief investment officer, Bill Gross, is telling investors that for the Fed it will "be difficult to initiate a QE3". But without artificial stimulation the U.S. economy may start really struggling again, and Wall Street knows this.

#5 Moody's recently warned that it may downgrade the debt ratings of Bank of America, Citigroup and Wells Fargo. Bank stocks were on the cutting edge of the financial collapse of 2008, and it looks like that may happen again this time.

#6 Faith in the U.S. dollar continues to decline. Back on April 18th, Standard & Poor’s changed its outlook on U.S. government debt from "stable" to "negative" and warned that the U.S. could soon lose its AAA rating. China has been very busy dumping short-term U.S. government debt and there does not seem to be a lot of people (other than the Federal Reserve) that are eager to buy U.S. Treasuries right now.

#7 U.S. consumer confidence is already lower than it was back in September 2008 when Lehman Brothers collapsed. Consumer spending makes up approximately 70 percent of the U.S. economy and Wall Street is watching this number closely.

#8 A whole slew of bad economic news has been pouring in lately. Mike Riddell, a fund manager at M&G Investments in London, recently pointed out to CNBC some of the data points that have been particularly alarming....

"US house prices have fallen by more than 5 percent year on year, pending home sales have collapsed and existing home sales disappointed, the trend of improving jobless claims has arrested, first quarter GDP wasn’t revised upwards by the 0.4 percent forecast, durables goods orders shrank, manufacturing surveys from Philadelphia Fed, Richmond Fed and Chicago Fed were all very disappointing."

#9 A whole lot of folks in the financial industry have been warning about the next financial collapse lately. For example, economist Nouriel Roubini recently made the following statement....

"I think right now we’re on the tipping point of a market correction. Data from the U.S., from Europe, from Japan, from China are suggesting an economic slowdown."

#10 According to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll, 48% of Americans believe that it is either "very likely" or "somewhat likely" that the United States will experience a "depression" within the next 12 months. Needless to say, Wall Street is highly influenced by the overall mood of the nation.

Once again, let's hope that financial disaster can be averted for as long as possible. The last thing the United States needs right now is another major crisis.

America has been hit by a whole series of natural disasters in 2011. We have seen unprecedented tornadoes, historic flooding along the Mississippi River, and horrible wildfires in Texas and in Arizona.

Thousands upon thousands of American families are deeply suffering tonight.

Dave Daubenmire recently visited Joplin, Missouri and what he witnessed there was absolutely heartbreaking. Thousands of families there have lost absolutely everything.

But for most Americans, the impact of a particular tragedy fades after the 48-hour news cycle has passed. If the television doesn't tell us that something is important then most of us are not likely to think about it much.

Most Americans think pretty much only of themselves. The vast majority of us are just so busy pursuing our own version of "the American Dream" that we don't have much time for much else. The love of most Americans has grown cold and most of them are primarily interested in how they can make their own lives better.

But whoever "dies with the most toys" does not win the game of life. Rather, we should all be seeking to show as much love to others as we possibly can.

The next time the financial markets crash and Wall Street goes into panic mode, there will probably be another string of suicides as a lot of wealthy people watch their wealth evaporate.

Don't let your life be defined by how much money is in your bank account or by how much stuff you own. Life is about so much more than that.

Third part of trees burned, third part of sea & great star, Wormwood

How many of us think we will live to see an asteroid, comet or meteor come into our atmosphere? I have shown that the first three Trumpets of Revelation 8 will be asteroids or a combination of both in the past. According to those Trumpets, these will be very devastating!

Revelation 8:7 . .The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

V. 8 . .And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; V.9 . And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

V. 10 . .And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; V.11 .. And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter (poison)..

The above is a perfect description of comets, meteors, and asteroids plunging into our atmosphere and burning because of friction. They will burn up one-third of the forests, cause such heat in the oceans that it will burn up the oxygen and cause red algae to flourish, making it look like blood. The shipping industry will lose one-third of its ships and merchandise. Much of the fresh water will be poisoned and will kill those who drink it. This is prophesied for the immediate future.

Giant asteroid hurtling towards Earth

01 June 2011 [17:47] - Today.Az

Space rock YU55 will hurtle past our planet at a distance of just 201,700 miles on November 8.

A massive asteroid will fly within the moon's orbit narrowly missing Earth later this year. The space rock, called YU55, will hurtle past our planet at a distance of just 201,700 miles during its closest approach on November 8.

That is closer to Earth than the moon, which orbits 238,857miles away on average.
With a width of some 400metres and weighing 55million tons, YU55 will be the largest object to ever approach Earth so close.

Nasa spokesman Don Yeomans said: 'On November 8, asteroid YU55 will fly past Earth and at its closest approach point will be about 325,000kms away.

This asteroid is about 400 metres wide - the largest space rock we have identified that will come this close until 2028.'

Despite YU55's close proximity to Earth, its gravitational pull on our planet will be 'immeasurably miniscule'.

Mr Yeomans added: 'During its closest approach, its gravitational effect on the Earth will be so miniscule as to be immeasurable. It will not affect the tides or anything else.'

It is, however, still officially labelled a 'potentially hazardous object' - if it was to hit Earth, it would exert a force the equivalent of 65,000 atomic bombs and leave a crater six miles wide and 2,000ft deep.

YU55 was discovered by Robert McMillan, head of the Nasa-funded Spacewatch Program at the University of Arizona, Tucson in December 2005.

It orbits the sun once every 14 years but will not collide with Earth for at least a century.

'YU55 poses no threat of an Earth collision over, at the very least, the next 100 years,' Mr Yeomans said.

Scientists around the world have long been discussing ways of deflecting potentially hazardous asteroids to prevent them hitting Earth.

One of the more popular methods is to detonate a nuclear warhead on an approaching asteroid to deflect it from its orbital path.

Last year, physicist David Dearborn of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the US argued that nuclear weapons could be the best strategy for avoiding an asteroid impact - especially for large asteroids and with little warning time.

Future Earth Changes

Shocking news about future Earth changes

This is a summary of information regarding electromagnetic events and solar activity that will affect the Earth. The research regarding Elenin has led to this information. Having been researching Elenin and the rumors of a cataclysmic event in the near future, I have had a great deal of difficulty finding any verifiable information about whether Elenin is more than we are being told by officials. However I still wanted to determine whether there is a significant threat to our way of life and what preparations may be necessary.

I realized that if our Governments are hiding what they know, we should be able to gain some clues based upon what they are doing. I also realized that there may be some additional threads of evidence due to possible whistle-blowers in various professions. I was looking for information that fit a set pattern and that was from independent sources. Although I do not have all the answers, I have found some of what I was looking for and have some information regarding very likely future events. These events will affect our way of life and everyone should prepare for this.

I was looking for facts rather than speculation. What I found is based upon science and articles from NASA and information from other sources. Some confirming information is historical (things like this have happened in the past). I cannot guarantee that all the articles I link to are completely accurate but my focus is mainly on the electrical events that are predicted.

Many of the sources of the information I have found are official or undisputed but many of the news articles have not been highly publicized for very long. I believe this is partly because of the technical nature of the evidence (lack of understanding by reporters and management) combined with an unwillingness to alarm the public (an irresponsible attitude since everyone should prepare for situations like this).

Based upon what I researched, which is described below, I have reached the conclusions and possibilities listed here. Some of them are shocking but those who are concerned should review the information, do their own research, and make themselves prepared as soon as possible.

Conclusions and predictions:

1. Parts or all of the power grid will become disabled or destroyed (3 months to 5 years). This is my prediction based upon scientific fact.

2. It is very likely that solar activity and electromagnetic interfacing between heavenly bodies will produce Electromagnetic Pulses (EMP) of enough magnitude to not only destroy the power grid, but to destroy most electric and electronic devices (unless properly shielded and may destroy them even if they are shielded).

3. It is very likely that electromagnetic and plasma events may become very common in the near future (6 months to 5 years) and happen for extended periods of time rather than single pulse events.

4. Our solar system is entering an area of space that will change the behavior of the sun and cause magnetic events through the solar system and on earth. NASA calls this area of space a ribbon of magnetics which consists of a combination of magnetized hydrogen and helium.
The above information is supported by news and information from NASA.

The below information is my hypothesis based upon various information that I have been able to find but no direct evidence seems available to either prove or disprove it.
1. I believe there is a significant possibility that our solar system is a binary star system and there may be something of significant mass that is inbound and is affecting weather, comets, and earthquakes.

2. Although I do not believe the comet Elenin is Planet X or Niburu, I believe its appearance may have been caused or affected by a larger unknown massive object in our solar system. If there is a large object like this, I believe NASA is aware of it and knows approximately where it is.

3. I believe the comet Elenin will not destroy Earth but could have some electromagnetic effects upon earth, possibly including a flux interface between Earth, Elenin, and/or the sun. Elenin's passing could herald the first of many significant electromagnetic events, although the magnetic cloud in space is the main factor that will make the exchange possible This possible interface is not definite.

4. Earthquakes may be influenced by magnetic flux. If so, the electromagnetic events to come could cause a greater number of earthquakes.

Research:
While researching, I first began to try to confirm rumors about some things the government has been doing. I searched on several terms including:
SEED BANK
UNDERGROUND GOVERNMENT BUNKERS
FEMA FOOD PURCHASES
WHISTLEBLOWER PLANET X
WHISTLEBLOWER 2012
Later searches included:
EMP SUN
SOLAR SYSTEM PLASMA EFFECTS
FLUX TRANSFER EVENT
PLASMA
BIRKELAND CURRENTS
PETROGLYPHS AURORAS

My initial searches confirmed:
1. A seed bank was created. There are many news articles available regarding this but here is one: Work begins on Arctic seed vault
2. Governments are creating underground bunkers. Although I cannot guarantee the accuracy of all the articles, here are several articles about it. There is good reason to believe underground bases exist but the reasons for the basis could be anything from possible nuclear war to some cataclysmic event.
Norwegian politician speaks about surviving global catastrophe in the government bunkers in Norway
Secret Government Bunkers
DEEP UNDERGROUND MILITARY BASES
The Government is Building Underground BUNKERS on a Mass Scale
3. Governments have been purchasing massive quantities of food. Here are articles:
FEMA Requests Information on the Availability of 140 Million Packets of Food, Blankets, and Body Bags
Terror threats rising as FEMA orders $1 Billion in dehydrated food
4. Although information about detected space rocks was formerly public, it is now classified.
Military Hush-Up: Incoming Space Rocks Now Classified
This means that even if NASA is aware of something that may be a threat they will most likely not tell the public.

None of this indicates what is being anticipated, only that something is expected. One of my whistleblower searches turned up this article which was a significant clue:

An Electrical Engineer on 2012-2013 Whistleblower Testimony

My husband is an electrical engineer for a national power company. He has just been told that they are expecting an event in the next 3-4 years that will render every transformer in the world useless. They are desperately trying to find a solution to the problem. If they don't, the entire global electrical system will go down. He mentioned something about electromagnetic clouds in space that the Earth is drifting into. They are under incredible pressure to find a solution.

Not many months ago I had read an article about a threat to the electrical power grid. The article talked about Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), the electrical storms they can generate and the threat to the electrical power grid. It said high voltage transformers could be destroyed if the proper protections are not put in place in time and that should these transformers be destroyed, it will take years to replace them. Therefore a large portion of the electrical power grid could fail for many years. I don't remember the exact article but there are several similar articles across the internet. Here is a similar one:
EMP threatens power shutdown for months

This information motivated me to do more research in this area. I found the below article that provides lots of information that seems credible.
A Boeing Whistleblower’s Warning
This article discusses the magnetic ribbon in space that our solar system is entering. It includes other information including:
1. Changes in Earth's electromagnetic field.
2. Information about an area in space with plasma energy (magnetized hydrogen and helium gas).
3. Increased solar activity.
4. Flux transfer events (FTE) between heavenly bodies.
5. The Norway spiral and how it may have been caused by a FTE.
6. It also mentions additional effects that I have seen people mention on the internet and have personally observed seasonal pattern changes and increased extreme weather events.

Potential effects
- Sudden, dramatic changes to weather patterns
- Increased extreme weather events
- Shifted seasonal patterns
- Increased EQ activity
- Mystery booms
- Hyper cloudless "lightning" storms
- Unusual sky effects
- Tide and water level deviations

7. Speculation about a black dwarf.

Here is an article about space weather and its social and economic impacts from the National Research Council.

1. There is a ribbon of magnetics in space identified by NASA.
2. As our solar system passes through this magnetic area in space, electronics and electricity will be affected for some time - There may be flares, EMP, FTE, and CME events affecting earth.
3. NASA has some concern about potential for something hitting the sun.
4. Damage to transformers can take years to replace
5. There have been some breaches in Earth's magnetic field which may be caused by FTEs. This may be the cause for bird dieoffs.

6. There is govenment suppression on information about some asteroids (classified) and inbound objects.
7. Filaments on the sun keep popping up.
8. Interstellar cloud changes CME discharge into a more continuous process - magnetic cloud supports continuous ion flow between connected bodies - could make EMPs continuous.
9. Magnetic flux tubes do occur - solar wind connections are not steady but brief, bursty and dynamic.
10. Surplus cosmic rays from an unidentified source relatively near (within 3000 light years)
11. From Wikipedia.org - Geomagnetic Storm

On September 1 – 2, 1859, the largest recorded geomagnetic storm occurred. From August 28 until September 2, 1859, numerous sunspots and solar flares were observed on the Sun, the largest flare occurring on September 1. This is referred to as the 1859 solar superstorm or the the Carrington Event. It can be assumed that a massive Coronal mass ejection (CME), associated with the flare, was launched from the Sun and reached the Earth within eighteen hours — a trip that normally takes three to four days. The horizontal intensity of geomagnetic field was reduced by 1600 nT as recorded by the Colaba observatory near Bombay, India. It is estimated that Dst would have been approximately -1750 nT. Telegraph wires in both the United States and Europe experienced induced emf, in some cases even shocking telegraph operators and causing fires. Auroras were seen as far south as Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba, and Italy — phenomena that are usually only seen near the poles.

12. Also from Wikipedia.org - Geomagnetic Storm

On March 13, 1989 a severe geomagnetic storm caused the collapse of the Hydro-Québec power grid in a matter of seconds as equipment protection relays tripped in a cascading sequence of events. Six million people were left without power for nine hours, with significant economic loss. The storm even caused auroras as far south as Texas.

I believe there is a large body lurking somewhere out there, in affect, this becomes the cause for extra unknown comets, asteroids etc.

The elliptic plane , from my research, is approaching as our solar sytem crosses over. I beleive we are on the fringe of this eliptical plane and there must be a cause and effect associated with it. For the past 25 years I have noticed a quickening of things so to speak. I look at this subjectively without bias.

Many years ago an electrical engineer told me a similar thing but he said it would not be an issue till the mid 2010 to 2018 mark. He also said that it was based on electro magnetic interferance external to our planet. he was involved with the Airforce in Woomera, Australia.he is dead now through cancer.

I claim Elenin is nothing more than small comet. I also do not beleive in niburu and the all the associated crap.

I do re iterate, that my research leads me to a simialr conclusion that there is a large body lurking.

I have studied in depth the science of Semiotics. I believe that 90% of humans are asleep and in denial of some key things in this physical world. There is also a lot of things that the general population is not being told.

At the end of the day it is our individual consciousness that enables us to make informed descions and to act on a higher instinctual level. Without question there is going to be a significant purging within humanity in my lifetime.

What do we do in the meantime?

Make everyday count

Great thread and links in to my own feelings on current events. I strongly believe that electro magnetics are behind most of our current troubles and that this is perfectly natural for the universe (but maybe not so great for us).

One thing that confuses me regarding the power grids etc, though is this: surely if we know when a flare /storm is due to hit we can simply turn off the power? If the power is off, there can't be any damage right? Forgive the simplicity of the question and the phrasing but i am a layman regarding these things......

I am an electrical engineer currently working in the information technology field. I have a reasonably good understanding of electric charge, magnetics, and capacitance. This is a bit technical but I would like to discuss charge and capacitance in order to provide more complete information of some of the phenomenon that is expected to occur. A model of a capacitor includes two charge plates separated by a dielectric. Simply stated, the plates are conductors of electricity in parallel to each other separated by a dielectric (non-conducting) surface which prevents current from flowing between the two plates. These two plates separated by a dielectric form a capacitor and that capacitor can hold electric charge. If you hook one plate to the positive side of a battery, and the other plate to the negative side of a battery, you will charge the capacitor. The capacitor will stay charged after you remove it from the battery because positive charge is attracted to negative charge and that energy holds them in place across the dielectric.

Dielectric Capacitor

Some good electrical insulators include glass and a vacuum. We are told that space is a vacuum and that is partially correct. Normally space is a vacuum and is a good insulator which prevents electrical charge from flowing. Now take a sun which is a massive nuclear reactor and place it in a center area and surround it with planets revolving around it in the dielectric of space. Each of those planets will pick up energy (positive and/or negative) from that massive nuclear reactor. The massive nuclear reactor produces energy of all types (light, magnetic, and various radiation some of which may be harmful to life and other types may not). Therefore each planet would tend to have a different electrical charge. Potential voltages between planets may be incredible and the relative charges may have a natural attraction to jump from one planet to another. This may not be possible while space is a good insulator but if space becomes cluttered with charged (both negative and positively charged) gas (hydrogen and helium) molecules, its ability to conduct electricity may increase and allow charge to flow between heavenly bodies. This would tend to happen as our solar system enters the magnetic ribbon in space. One effect of this may be birkeland currents.

This article discusses birkeland currents and the planets.
The Solar System

Each planet has a 'plasma sheath' - a well known electrical phenomenon - the size and shape of which is determined by the difference between the electrical potential (voltage) of the planet and that of the nearby solar plasma. The shape of this plasma sheath is usually a tear-drop or wind-sock shape, the pointed end facing away from the sun. The boundary of this sheath is a double layer that separates the planet's surrounding plasma from the solar plasma. The plasma sheath of Venus is extremely long, almost touching the Earth when the two planets are at their closest approach. Jupiter's plasma sheath has the same relationship with Saturn. Recently NASA astronomers have discovered what they call 'stringy things' in the long plasma tail of Venus. Such twisted (stringy) filaments are exactly the paths Birkeland currents take in plasmas. Apparently Venus is discharging an electrical current. The plasma tails of all the planets today are in the dark current mode of operation. But were they always thus? The ancients reported that Venus once was seen to have a fiery tail and 'twisted hair'.

This article discusses the potential electrical interaction between comets and planets. It discusses planet X also but I do not have information to neither conform nor deny the existence of planet X.
Is Gliese 581 Nibiru or Planet X?

But to the greatest danger facing our World it is not from the horrific effects a massive Global Cooling event would have upon us, warn Russian scientists, but rather it is from the rising potential of our Earth being struck by, or “electrically interacting” with, a comet emanating from the currently destabilizing Oort Cloud from which these ‘space missiles’ are being increasingly hurled into our Solar System. One such “electrical interaction” between these Oort Cloud “space missiles” plunging into our inner Solar System towards the Sun is occurring now, and offering further evidence supporting these Russian scientists claims after its discovery this week by Australian amateur astronomer Alan Watson who found this ‘new comet’ while inspecting images obtained by NASA’s STEREO-A’s Hemispheric Imager.

For quite a while, I've been interested in learning about the potential effects of an attack by EMP weapons, and this sounds like it basically amounts to the same effects. I do wonder about what kinds of things one could do to prepare for such an eventuality?

What materials are sheilds normally made of? (as imperfect as they may be) would it be possible to make one at home somehow?? Say, perhaps even for small batteries or appliances?

I wonder, in this scenario you present, what the effects upon the human mind and body could be???

To protect against an EMP pulse switch off the circuit.Simple. If you wish to protect against a pulse whilst still running the equipment then surround it with a faraday cage. Basically a conducting cage.
